Hey beauties; hope you're all doing great. Today I am reviewing a foundation that I am absolutely loving and I will tell you all about it. But before I do, let me just say this foundation is AMAZEBALLS! #HolyGrailStatus
So the foundation in question is the Black Up Full Coverage Cream Foundation, now if you are a WOC (women of colour) then you know the struggle of finding foundations that suit your skin tone and most times you have to mix so many shades to get your colour so Black Up is a brand that caters primarily to WOC which is refreshing but all their products suit all skin tones. They also have other products such as primers, lipsticks, eyeshadows, powders, highlights and concealers.
I first saw this foundation on Youtube and it looked amazing on; so when I saw it on offer on Debenhams online I decided to get it. Now the problem with Black Up is that they don't really have a lot of stores in the UK and even less in the US. I know they have a stand in Debenhams in Manchester Arndale and London Oxford Circus.
I bought mine online so I used the match on the site and videos that I had seen to gauge my colour.
As you can see the colour is just a tad lighter as I said previously my neck is a bit darker but I usually mix it with my Dior Nude Foundation (a pump of each), I would love to get a darker colour.
Now onto the Foundation, it has a creamy texture and literally a little bit goes a long way, a pea sized amount literally does my whole face.
This foundation blends out seamlessly and gives a full coverage as the name suggests but does not give a cakey look.
None of my imperfections show through and it just gives a flawless look. The website also states that this foundation covers blemishes, dark spots, flaws and scars.
I do have combination Oily skin so I always set my foundation with a powder,I always get compliments from my friends at work whenever I wear this. You know its a good foundation when someone asks, 'what foundation are you wearing, it looks really good.'
This Black Up foundation is also oil free so its great for a lot of skin types. Because of its creamy texture, it works well for dry, normal, combination and oily skin. With very oily skin, I suggest using a mattifying primer and a mattifying powder. I used my Kiko mat base primer prior to applying my foundation and my Make Up ForEver Duo Mat powder to set it in place. It does last for about 7 hours before having to blot my skin; and I never reapply foundation once I apply it so it still stays on when I go gym straight after work. However, it does get slightly shiny after 6-8 hours. They also recently came out with a matifying fluid foundation so I can't wait to try that out.
This foundation costs £27 and is 1.2 FL OZ which is about 35ml which is totally worth it, my Nars foundation is 30ml and costs £31 and my Dior foundation is 30ml and costs £33 so this is really good value for money.
In conclusion, I adore this Black Up foundation Full Coverage Cream Foundation because it gives an amazing coverage and gives my face a FLAWLESS look and it's so blendable, please if you do anything in this new month of April, TRY this foundation, you're welcome.
Pros : great coverage, lasts all day, looks amazing, different shades for all skin tones
